When you’re looking for somewhere new to live there are lots of things that you need to consider but, if you are new to the North and East London, Essex and Herts areas that our offices operate in, one of the most crucial will be understanding what there is in the location you are considering and how well that suits your needs.
Decisions around schools, transport links and even local amenities such as what shops or restaurants are nearby can make or break buying or rental decisions.
Surfacing such information can be a challenge. You might scour local newspapers or Google might be your friend. Talking to local agents who are experts in the areas that they serve can be a big help but what if you are searching locations late in the evening with your feet up on the sofa?
Helping you find local amenities
At Kings Group we offer a local amenities tool that helps you see what is in the area that you are interested in at the click of a button or two. You simply go to our website and click on any of our 13 branches from Cheshunt to Walthamstow. The homepage for each includes several useful tabs that include, to the far right, a local amenities tab.
Clicking on the local amenities tab will bring up a map highlighting the position of important features such as transport and schools as well as other amenities such as food and drink locations including restaurants, fast food places, cafes and pubs; leisure facilities such as local gyms and healthcare facilities such as doctors and dentists. Each amenity type is colour-coded and has a related icon to enable you to quickly identify them on the map.
You can zoom in to look at facilities in specific areas of the map or zoom out to see a wider overview of clusters of amenities that might shift the focus of your search and highlight exactly where you want to be.
You can also view all amenities as a whole or filter them by their category, such as food and drink, depending on what is most important to your search.
Highlighting other useful information
The amenities tab also includes other useful information, such as price trends and broadband speeds. There is even the ability to look at street views via a Google Maps link, meaning that you can save your investigating in the flesh until you are surer of your intended location and can instead continue the search from your sofa.
This level of information is hugely valuable in refining your choice of where to live, whether you are investing in buying or looking for a new place to rent. The tool allows you to explore the area you are interested in quickly and easily with an abundance of the information that you need to make an informed choice, helping you can make a better decision on the right location for you.
We think the tool is impressive, we hope that you do too.
