Formed in 1907, and eventually merging with Sunnyside Tennis Club in 1975, Enfield Lawn Tennis Club has developed into a successful sporting society. Its newly renovated clubhouse boasts floodlighting, fencing and six all-weather hard courts for its members – making its facilities some of the best in the borough.
Situated on The Ridgeway just outside Enfield town centre, the club welcomes players of all ages and standards for a great mix of social and competitive tennis.

The Enfield area
Just nine miles north of central London, Enfield features attractive cobbled centre that feels more like a market town than a London suburb. It offers a rich history, great restaurants, and an array of shops, activities and green space.
With a population of just over 300,000, the north London borough attracts all types of people due to its small-town feel and sense of community. It’s also surrounded by two beautiful parks, Forty Hall and Trent Park, with Epping Forest close by.
Things to do in Enfield
Enfield is indeed a sporty area with numerous clubs to suit all tastes and abilities, from football to martial arts. There is also the council-owned swimming pool nearest to Enfield town centre, Southbury Leisure Centre, on Southbury Road.
Elsewhere, the Dugdale Centre in London Road is the beating heart of the local arts scene, putting on plays, musicals, children’s shows, music events and films; and is also home to the Enfield Museum and a popular café.
Green space in Enfield is plentiful, with locals able to walk along the New River and a town park which stretches from the town centre as far south as Winchmore Hill and includes the Bush Hill Park Golf Club.
Enfield’s newest park – which opened on December 2017 – brings even more green space. Bowes Meadow, located south of the North Circular Road, has a new multi-use games area and a large play space comprising swings, basket seats, a jungle area, ground trampolines and landscaping.
Transport links in Enfield
The area also benefits from good transport links, with overground trains from Enfield Town taking around 30 minutes to Liverpool Street, though some commuters change for the Underground at Seven Sisters.
Trains from Enfield Chase take a similar amount of time to get to Moorgate. The nearest Tube station is Oakwood on the Cockfosters branch of the Piccadilly line.
Enfield also sits close to the A10, Great Cambridge Road, and junction 25 on the M25.

The property scene here is also thriving. Enfield has a mix of Victorian houses, 1920s and 1930s semi-detached terrace houses and modern flats.
